Tina Fey is back in the spotlight with The Four Seasons, a new ensemble comedy premiering May 1 on Netflix. Inspired by the 1981 Alan Alda film of the same name, the series dives into friendship, marriage, and midlife meltdowns—with Fey’s signature wit at the center.
The story follows three longtime couples—Kate and Jack, Nick and Anne, Danny and Claude—who vacation together each season of the year. But things take a turn when one couple announces a divorce and introduces a much younger girlfriend to the group. Awkwardness ensues, testing the bonds between old friends in a humorous reimagining of the original film.
And just like the original 1981 film, which starred Alan Alda, Carol Burnett, and Rita Moreno, this new version of The Four Seasons brings together a standout ensemble. Tina Fey leads the cast alongside Steve Carell, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo, and Marco Calvani.
Erika Henningsen also joins the mix as Ginny, a younger girlfriend whose surprise arrival throws the group off balance. And just when you think the cast couldn’t get more nostalgic, Alan Alda himself returns for a guest appearance, a fitting nod to the movie that started it all.

The key art for the Netflix series mirrors the look and feel of the original 1981 film — right down to the relaxed ensemble pose and warm seasonal tones. While the show is set around upscale vacations, it was filmed entirely in New York’s Hudson Valley, including Cold Spring, Newburgh, and Poughkeepsie — spots that Bronxites know well.
“I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us, and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home,” Fey told Netflix’s Tudum.
Netflix will release all episodes at once, making it a bingeable treat to kick off May.
