Horror fans in New York City, especially right here in The Bronx, are getting their moment in the moonlight as Shudder marks a decade of thrills with local events across the Big Apple — including a can't-miss tattoo party in Brooklyn and screenings at Manhattan’s IFC Center.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ horror streaming service, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a nationwide "Shudder 10 Screening Series" and special fan activations across NYC. Kicking off during the platform’s "Halfway to Halloween" slate, the series brings cult classics and fan-favorite originals like The Dark and the Wicked, Terrified, Skinamarink, and Mad God to the big screen for the first time.
On Friday, June 13—the only Friday the 13th of 2025—Wild Heart Tattoo Parlor in Brooklyn (154 Nassau Ave) will host a one-night-only flash tattoo party for horror diehards. Just down the block, Nitehawk Williamsburg will host a double-feature anniversary screening curated by The Future of Film Is Female.
In Manhattan, horror lovers can also head to the IFC Center for screenings as part of the ongoing Shudder Showcase — a monthly series that serves up special advance previews of the platform’s boldest, bloodiest, and most talked-about titles. The latest installment features Dead Mail as part of Shudder’s Halfway to Halloween celebration, offering fans a true big-screen scare-fest.

Shudder 10-themed merch — from horror-weapon pillows to exclusive screen-printed posters by artists like Matt Ryan Tobin — is available at the Shudder Shop, with some items expected to show up at select tour stops.
Did You Know? The Bronx has its own horror roots: it’s the home of Night of the Living Dead director George A. Romero, and Edgar Allan Poe spent his final years here — his historic cottage still stands in Poe Park. Even today, Bronx-born actor David Zayas (Sgt. Batista from Dexter) is back in the spotlight with Dexter: Resurrection, which is filming in and around NYC, including The Bronx.
Launched in 2015, Shudder has become a home for genre lovers, spotlighting horror voices old and new. And while much of this year’s tour sweeps the country, NYC—especially boroughs like The Bronx where eerie storytelling is embedded in the concrete—continues to be a major player in the culture of fear.
