What happens when your biggest rivals share your last name—and your legacy? Netflix’s Rotten Legacy, premiering globally on May 16, 2025, casts Spanish film and television legend Jose Coronado as Federico Seligman, a once-powerful communications mogul who reclaims control of his empire—only to find his children pulling it in a direction he can’t stand.
Set to stream globally, the eight-episode series follows Seligman after a two-year medical absence. As he recovers and attempts to return to business, his biggest fight isn’t with his illness—it’s with his heirs.
This family drama also stars Belén Cuesta (Money Heist), Diego Martín (Elite), Natalia Huarte (To Love Is Forever), and María Morera (Freedom), who portray Federico’s adult children Yolanda, Andrés, Guadalupe, and Lara. Each sibling sees the family legacy differently, setting up a high-stakes internal war for control of the media dynasty.
The supporting cast includes Susi Sánchez, Mireia Portas, Gustavo Salmerón, Nico Romero, Iván Pellicer, Salva Reina, and Lucas Nabor, bringing further depth to the story’s complex world.
Created by Carlos Montero (Elite), Pablo Alén, and Breixo Corral (Three Many Weddings), Rotten Legacy blends family drama with power politics. All eight episodes were written by the trio and directed by Eduardo Chapero-Jackson and Carlota Pereda.
This Netflix original is produced by El Desorden Crea, known for layered storytelling and standout ensemble casts.
