Acorn TV has officially greenlit My Life Is Murder for a fifth season, set to premiere later this year. The hit mystery drama, starring Xena: Warrior Princess legend Lucy Lawless as investigator Alexa Crowe, promises another round of gripping cases set in Auckland, New Zealand.
Fans can look forward to eight brand-new cases with Alexa's signature wit and fearless approach to solving crimes, which will be put to the test, but she won't be working alone. Tech expert Madison (Ebony Vagulans, The Furies) will play a crucial role in cracking cases, while café owner Reuben (Joe Naufahu, Game of Thrones) continues to provide unwavering support. Meanwhile, Detective Harry (Rawiri Jobe, Shortland Street) harbors a surprising secret that could change everything.
Adding to the tension, Alexa's rebellious brother Will (Martin Henderson, Virgin River) resurfaces with a dilemma that could shake up her world. And in the most high-stakes episode yet, her beloved cat Chowder gets tangled in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse, raising the stakes for Alexa like never before.
This season welcomes exciting guest stars, including Oscar nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider, Game of Thrones, FBI: Most Wanted) and comedic favorite Rhys Darby (Jumanji: The Next Level, Flight of the Conchords, Our Flag Means Death).
