A weekend meant for bonding turns into a supernatural showdown in The Parenting, a horror-comedy debuting Thursday, March 13, on Max. Starring Nik Dodani, Brandon Flynn, Brian Cox, Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow, Dean Norris, Parker Posey, and Vivian Bang, the film promises a mix of laughs and chills as two families collide under eerie circumstances.
The Parenting follows Rohan (Dodani) and Josh (Flynn), a young couple excited to introduce their parents for the first time during a scenic country retreat. However, their plans take a turn when tensions rise between the traditional Sharon (Falco) and Frank (Cox) and the easygoing Liddy (Kudrow) and Cliff (Norris).
The awkward family dynamic takes an even stranger twist when they discover their rental home—managed by the eccentric Brenda (Posey)—is haunted by a 400-year-old poltergeist. When one of the parents becomes possessed, the group must put their differences aside and join forces with their meddlesome best friend Sara (Bang) to banish the evil spirit.
Directed by Craig Johnson and written by Kent Sublette, The Parenting brings together a powerhouse of comedic and dramatic talent. Produced by Chris Bender and Jake Weiner, with executive producers Richard Brener, Chris Pan, David Neustadter, and Jared Ian Goldman, the film blends horror and humor in a fresh, engaging way.
