Based on Liz Moore’s New York Times bestselling novel, Long Bright River is a gripping new thriller set against the backdrop of Philadelphia’s opioid crisis. The eight-episode limited series, premiering exclusively on Peacock on Thursday, March 13, 2025, features Academy Award nominee and Emmy-winning actress Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout), who also serves as an executive producer.

Seyfried plays Mickey, a dedicated police officer patrolling a Philadelphia neighborhood devastated by the opioid epidemic. When a string of murders shakes the community, she begins to suspect that her past is intertwined with the case. As she hunts for answers, personal and professional lines blur, uncovering buried secrets that threaten to change everything.

The series is written and executive produced by Moore, with Nikki Toscano (The Offer, Hunters) serving as showrunner, writer, and director for Episode 6. Toscano describes Seyfried’s performance as "flawed and raw, tarred by guilt and shame and legacy, but never more compelling."

In addition to Seyfried, executive producers include Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, and Amanda Lewis for Original Film; Amy Pascal for Pascal Pictures; and Russell Rothberg. The series is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Hagar Ben-Asher (Bad Boy, Dead Women Walking) directs multiple episodes, with a supporting cast featuring Nicholas Pinnock, Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson, and John Doman. Recurring guest stars include Dash Mihok, Britne Oldford, Matthew Del Negro, Harriet Sansom Harris, Patch Darragh, and Perry Mattfeld.

All eight episodes of Long Bright River will be available for streaming on Peacock starting March 13, offering a binge-worthy experience for fans of crime thrillers and literary adaptations.
