Kevin Hart is returning to his comedy roots with 72 Hours, a new Netflix film directed by longtime collaborator Tim Story. The film follows a forty-year-old executive who gets accidentally added to a group chat of wild twenty-somethings planning a bachelor party and decides to tag along to save his failing career.

Written by Matt Mider, Kevin Burrows, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, 72 Hours marks the fifth project between Hart and Story, known for hits like Ride Along and Think Like a Man. The film is being produced by Hartbeat, Davis Entertainment, Counterbalance, and Will Packer, with Ross Fanger serving as executive producer.

While Netflix hasn’t revealed filming locations or additional cast, the film is part of a new partnership where Sony Pictures gives Netflix a first look at movies intended for streaming—an arrangement expected to yield more star-led comedies.

Offscreen, Kevin Hart has kept busy. Just this week, he revived his rap alter ego “Chocolate Droppa” for a surprise NPR Tiny Desk concert, drawing millions of views. On a more serious note, his vegan fast-food venture, Hart House, suddenly closed all California locations on April 1.

With 72 Hours and several other projects in motion, Hart continues to evolve as both a performer and producer. Whether he's headlining blockbusters or crashing bachelor parties, the star remains a major draw for audiences around the world.
