Apple TV+ has released the trailer for 'Where’s Wanda?' its first German-language original series, which will premiere globally on October 2, 2024. The eight-episode series will begin with the release of the first two episodes, followed by a weekly drop, concluding on November 13.

This dark comedy, produced by UFA Fiction, centers on Dedo (Axel Stein) and Carlotta Klatt (Heike Makatsch) as they take matters into their own hands after their teenage daughter Wanda (Lea Drinda) goes missing without a trace.

The Klatts' frustration with the police’s lack of progress propels them to adopt extreme measures. With help from their tech-savvy son Ole (Leo Simon), they use surveillance devices to eavesdrop on their entire neighborhood, discovering shocking secrets hidden behind their neighbors' doors. The plot unfolds with both suspense and dark humor as they realize no one is who they seem.

Supporting the cast is a lineup of well-known German actors, including Devid Striesow (All Quiet on the Western Front), Jasmin Shakeri (The Magic Flute), and Joachim Król (The Most Desired Man). Rising stars like Nikeata Thompson and Palina Rojinski add further depth to the ensemble.

An upcoming Spanish drama inspired by a highly praised documentary showcases a family running a private ambulance service in Mexico City.

A Stellar Production Team

Where’s Wanda? brings together an impressive creative team. Royal Television Society nominee Oliver Lansley (Flack) helms the project, alongside co-creators and executive producers Nataly Kudiabor (Arthur’s Law) and Sebastian Werninger (The Physician).

Zoltan Spirandelli’s original story serves as the foundation for the series, which has been directed by award-winning filmmakers Christian Ditter (How To Be Single), Tobi Baumann (Faking Hitler), and Facundo Scalerandi (How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast).

With the addition of Where’s Wanda? to its global lineup, Apple TV+ continues to strengthen its international programming. Known for hits like Ted Lasso and Silo, this new series will further diversify its offerings with a captivating German-language drama that taps into family desperation, hidden truths, and tech-driven intrigue.
