The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy: Prime Video's New Adult Animated Sci-fi Comedy

Amazon MGM Studios is all set to premiere an adult animated sci-fi comedy called "The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy". The series, which has a two-season order, was created by Emmy Award-winning creator Cirocco Dunlap. The first-look images are within this article. The series will feature animation by Titmouse Studios and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on February 23, 2024.

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy follows Dr. Sleech and Dr. Klak, best friends and intergalactically renowned surgeons, as they tackle anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs. In Season One, doctors Sleech and Klak take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement.

The series stars Stephanie Hsu (Blue Eye Samurai, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Dr. Sleech, Keke Palmer (Nope, The After Party) as Dr. Klak, Kieran Culkin (Succession, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) as Dr. Plowp, Sam Smith (Spectre, Barbie, And Just Like That) as Dr. Azel, Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live) as Dr. Vlam, and Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face) as Nurse Tup.

Cirocco Dunlap (Miracle Workers, Russian Doll) serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer along with EPs Maya Rudolph, Danielle Renfrew Behrens, and Natasha Lyonne for Animal Pictures. Shauna McGarry, Shannon Prynoski, Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse (Star Trek: Lower Decks) will executive produce. Artist and animator Robin Eisenberg will co-produce and serve as production designer.
