Peacock’s The Day of the Jackal, based on Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel, is a cat-and-mouse thriller series starring Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) as the elusive assassin, the Jackal, and Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die) as the determined British intelligence officer Bianca. The ten-episode series will stream exclusively on Peacock starting November 14, 2024.

Set against the backdrop of modern-day geopolitics, The Day of the Jackal follows Redmayne's character, an assassin-for-hire who has become an international enigma.

After a high-profile hit, intelligence officer Bianca embarks on a relentless pursuit to bring him to justice. The trailer depicts a modern adaptation with a strong focus on the action-packed sequences, elevating it beyond a simple slow-burn thriller.

Fans of intense, spy-focused shows like 24 and Homeland will likely enjoy The Day of the Jackal. It's directed by Brian Kirk, known for Game of Thrones and Luther.

Frederick Forsyth will also be involved as a consulting producer in the series. This should help to ensure that while the series is updated for modern times, it stays true to the essence of Forsyth’s critically acclaimed story.
