Meet the Cast of Apple TV+'s Comedy Series, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin

Comedian and co-host of The Great British Bake Off, Noel Fielding, is gearing up to bring one of the most well-known highway robbers Dick Turpin to the small screen in The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin. Feilding stars as the legendary English highwayman, whose stories have inspired countless adaptations across stage and screen, spanning decades.

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington Films) joins Fielding in the ensemble cast as Jonathan Wilde, a corrupt lawman turned self-appointed thief-catcher. Offering a sneak peek into its upcoming comedy-adventure series, Apple TV+ released enticing images (found in this article) that offer a glimpse into the whimsical world of the show. The six-episode Apple Original series will premiere globally on Friday, March 1, 2024, with the first two episodes followed by a new episode every Friday through March 29th.

Follow Dick Turpin (Fielding) as he embarks on a series of wildly absurd escapades after finding himself thrust into the role of a reluctant leader of a motley crew of outlaws. Turpin finds himself pitted against corrupted lawman Jonathan Wilde (Bonneville), who has taken it upon himself to be the self-proclaimed thief-taker.

In this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair. Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin rides the highs and lows of his new endeavors, including a brush with celebrity, all whilst trying to escape the clutches of the thief-taker.

Starring alongside Fielding and Bonneville in the ensemble cast are Ellie White (The Windsors), Marc Wootton (High & Dry), Duayne Boachie (Blue Story), Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Asim Chaudhry (The Sandman), Dolly Wells (The Outlaws), Joe Wilkinson (Sex Education), Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner), Geoff McGivern (Free Rein), Michael Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), Samuel Leakey (Gretel & Hansel) and Kiri Flaherty.
