Landman on Paramount+: What to know about Taylor Sheridan's Texas Oil Boom Series

Taylor Sheridan's new series Landman takes viewers deep into the gritty world of the Texas oil boom, exploring the stark contrast between the rugged lives of 'roughnecks' and the powerful executives they work for. Based on Christian Wallace's acclaimed 11-part podcast Boomtown, Landman will premiere on Sunday, November 17, 2024, exclusively on Paramount+.

Set in the boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern tale of ambition and risk, following the lives of roughnecks and billionaires chasing fortune in the oil industry. As oil rigs multiply, Crisis executive Tommy Norris navigates a world where wealth, power, and environmental consequences collide, reshaping both the industry and the global landscape.

Cast and Characters:

Sheridan's projects are known for their star-studded casts, and Landman is no exception. This 10-episode series stars Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton as crisis manager Tommy Norris, and Demi Moore as Cami, the wife of one of the most powerful oil men in Texas, and a friend to Tommy. Jon Hamm stars as Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry with a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy.

Landman, which began filming in February 2024 in and around Fort Worth, Texas, is written by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Directors include Stephen Kay (Sons of Anarchy), Michael Friedman (1883), and Taylor Sheridan.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions, Landman will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ with two episodes. Viewers can expect new episodes to be released every Sunday as part of its 10-episode first season.
