Prime Video Orders Animated Comedy Series 'Kevin' From Aubrey Plaza, Joe Wengert, And Dan Murphy

Prime Video ordered a new adult animated comedy series Kevin, created by Aubrey Plaza, Joe Wengert, and Dan Murphy. The show follows Kevin, a housecat who decides to live life on his terms, away from human owners. The series, set to stream exclusively on Prime Video, explores themes of self-discovery and independence.

Loosely inspired by a real break-up and the cat who was caught in the middle, this story follows Kevin as he dares to ask himself, "Is there a world where I don’t do the owner thing and am just... single for the rest of my life?" What will happen when Kevin decides that he doesn’t want to live with people anymore?

“We’re thrilled to be working with Joe and Amazon to bring this cat’s story to the screen. We can’t wait for the world to meet Kevin!” said Aubrey Plaza and Dan Murphy.

“Uniquely told through the lens of a housecat, this hilarious series hits on the extremely relatable theme of self-discovery and living your desired life,” said Melissa Wolfe, head of animation, at Amazon MGM Studios. “Aubrey, Joe, and Dan are telling a fantastic story and this is a great addition to our growing animated slate for our global Prime Video customers.”

The series is executive produced and written by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, the latter also serving as showrunner. Dan Murphy will also executive produce. The series is produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.
