Alicia Silverstone Stars in Irish Blood: Learn about Acorn TV's New Murder Mystery

Production is underway for Acorn TV's upcoming six-part murder mystery Irish Blood, directed by Molly McGlynn. The series stars award-winning actress Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), who also serves as an executive producer. Filming has commenced in Dublin and the surrounding areas of Ireland.
Written by Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Mike O’Leary, and John Krizanc, Irish Blood follows Fiona Sharpe (Silverstone), a successful Los Angeles divorce lawyer who receives a mysterious letter from her estranged father. Determined to uncover the truth behind his disappearance, Fiona embarks on a journey to Ireland.
Joining Silverstone in the cast are Wendy Crewson (Tracker), Jason O’Mara (The Good Wife), Dearbhla Molloy (Wild Mountain Thyme), Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials), Ruth Codd (The Fall of the House of Usher), and Leonardo Taiwo (Wheel of Time).
Fiona’s life has long been shaped by the absence of her father, Declan, who vanished on her tenth birthday. After years of channeling her anger into her career, the letter from Declan sends her on a search for answers.
In Ireland, Fiona discovers a family who never knew she existed and learns that her father’s abandonment was a lie—intended to protect her from his dangerous business dealings. Now, she is determined to uncover the full truth and reconnect with the father she thought she knew.
Alicia Silverstone expressed her excitement about the series, saying, "Irish Blood is the story of a woman discovering herself and confronting her past after traveling abroad unexpectedly. I love how unpredictable the storytelling feels, and the combination of drama, humor, and suspense my character experiences."
