Production has started in Northern Ireland for writer and creator Lisa McGee’s new Netflix comedy thriller series, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast. The show features Roísín Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan, and Caoilfhionn Dunne as three childhood friends in their late 30s.
The series is described as a comedy-thriller and centers on three friends coming together again following the passing of a fourth friend. This event sets them off on a dark, perilous, and amusing adventure through Ireland and other locations, where they delve into their shared history.
Saoirse, a clever and chaotic TV writer, Robyn, a glamorous and stressed-out mother of three, and Dara, a dependable carer, have been close friends since school. Now in their late 30s, they receive news about the death of Greta, the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang.
Eerie events at Greta's wake send them on a thrilling journey across Ireland and beyond, as they try to piece together the truth about their past. This series explores themes of friendship, memory, and the unexpected turns life can take.

Directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls) the eight-episode series stars Roísín Gallagher (The Dry, The Lovers) as Saoirse, Sinéad Keenan (Little Boy Blue, Unforgotten) as Robyn, and Caoilfhionn Dunne (A Thousand Blows, Industry) as Dara.
Along with McGee, the series is executive produced by Caroline Leddy, Michael Lennox, Liz Lewin, and Jimmy Mulville. Produced by Brian J. Falconer (Ordinary Love) the project is from Hat Trick Productions for Netflix.
