George R. R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight" is being adapted into a series for HBO. A press release announced that production for "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms" has started, and new cast members have joined the previously announced actors: Peter Claffey, who will play Dunk, and Dexter Sol Ansell who will be taking on the role of Egg.

Set a century before the events of "Game of Thrones," the story follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a brave yet inexperienced knight, and his small but spirited squire, Egg. In an era where the Targaryens still rule the Iron Throne and dragons are not yet extinct, these two unlikely heroes embark on a journey filled with destiny, powerful enemies, and perilous escapades.

Finn Bennett joins the cast as Aerion Targaryen, along with Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, and Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen.

Sarah Adina Smith, known for her work on "Lessons In Chemistry," "Hanna," and "Buster's Mal Heart," will direct three of the six episodes. Owen Harris, who is also an executive producer, will direct the remaining episodes. The series is written and executive produced by George R. R. Martin and Ira Parker, with additional executive production by Ryan Condal, Vince Gerardis, Owen Harris, and Sarah Bradshaw.
