As Elsbeth prepares for its highly anticipated return on October 17, 2024, one question looms: What will Elsbeth and Captain Wagner's relationship be like after all the revelations from season one?

(See the Season 2 Trailer Below)

In the first season, the brilliant Attorney/Detective tackled a variety of high-stakes cases, from exposing a murderous theater director to taking down a corrupt real estate mogul and the tenants of a luxury Manhattan building.

However, the biggest twist came in episode 9 when Elsbeth’s covert investigation into NYPD Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce) came to a head.

Initially, she appeared to be investigating NYPD procedures under a "Consent Decree," but it was soon revealed that Elsbeth had been sent by Agent Fred Celetano (Danny McCarthy) to investigate Wagner himself for corruption.

Surprisingly, Wagner had been suspicious of Elsbeth all along. By the finale, the two joined forces to expose Lieutenant Dave Noonan (Fredric Lehne), who had been using Wagner’s name for illegal deals.

The season two premiere, titled "Subscription to Murder," follows Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) as she investigates the murder of a womanizing finance executive, believed to have been killed over a disruptive ringing cell phone.

Suspicion falls on an obsessive opera fan (Nathan Lane) who may have committed the crime. Meanwhile, Elsbeth, Wagner, and Kaya face new challenges in the precinct as the fallout from Noonan’s corruption continues to affect them.
