What happens when pretending to be law enforcement to pull off a crime plunges you into danger so deep it could cost you your life? Apple TV+ will answer that question when Dope Thief premieres its first two episodes on Friday, March 14, 2025. Get a first look at the series cast in the images below.

Created and executive produced by Academy Award nominee Peter Craig (The Batman) and legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott (Gladiator), this eight-episode crime drama is based on Dennis Tafoya’s novel of the same name.

The series follows two longtime Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob a seemingly ordinary house in the countryside. Their small-time scheme takes a deadly turn as they uncover and disrupt the largest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard, turning their grift into a life-and-death battle.

Ridley Scott directs the first episode and serves as an executive producer alongside Academy Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), who also stars in the series. Fans will recognize Henry from his standout performance in the action-packed film Bullet Train alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brad Pitt or as the voice of D-16 Megatron in Transformers One.

The ensemble cast joining Henry includes Wagner Moura (Narcos), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Prodigy), Nesta Cooper (See), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible franchise).
