Dolly Lewis & Agam Darshi Star In The CW's New Canadian-American Crime Drama 'Sight Unseen'
Utilizing a visual assistance app, a former homicide detective teams up with an agoraphobe to apprehend elusive criminals in The CW's new crime drama Sight Unseen. The series is a joint Canadian-American production created by Karen Troubetzkoy and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy and co-produced by CTV and The CW.
Inspired by one of the series co-creators recurring experiences with sight loss, Sight Unseen follows Tess Avery, a top homicide detective who is forced to quit the job she loves after an incident in the field nearly results in her partner, Jake Campbell, being killed. This incident ultimately leads to her diagnosis of clinical blindness. Haunted by the cases she left behind and reluctant to accept help or even her diagnosis, Tess turns to an assistance app to connect with a professional seeing-eye guide 3,000 miles away.
An unorthodox partner in Tess' ear, Sunny Patel, guides her via a micro-camera, allowing Tess to pass as sighted. Sunny is agoraphobic and only sees the world outside of her apartment through the eyes of her clients. She is also hiding a secret of her own – a violent event from her past that she hopes to one day solve. Steering Tess through life’s obstacles and crimes, the duo challenges preconceptions about ability, trust, and where to draw the line.
Dolly Lewis (Vanishing Point) stars as the determined and resilient Tess Avery, along with a talented ensemble starting with Agam Darshi (The Flash) as Sunny Patel, who guides Tess through dangerous situations. The series also stars Jarod Joseph (The 100) as Matthew Alleyne, Daniel Gillies (The Originals) as Jake Campbell, Tess's former partner, and Roger Cross (The X-Files, 24, Arrow) as Superintendent Bennett.
The series debuted in Canada in January 2024 and is scheduled to premiere on The CW in the US on April 3, 2024. Produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Sisters Troubetzkoy Productions for Bell Media’s CTV in Canada, Sight Unseen was directed by executive producers John Fawcett, Karen Troubetzkoy, and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy. The team also includes co-showrunners John Morayniss, Carolyn Newman, and Virginia Rankin, along with Charles Cooper and writer Derek Schreyer from Front Street Pictures. Ryan Knighton serves as co-executive producer.
