Christian Dior & Coco Chanel: See Apple TV+ 'The New Look' Trailer and Cast Details
The New Look is a historical drama that takes place during the Second World War, a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. Produced by Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions, it follows trailblazing fashion designers Christian Dior and Coco Chanel as they navigated the horrors of World War II and launched modern fashion. This historical drama is written, executive produced, and directed by Todd A. Kessler, who is best known for his Emmy and Golden Globe-winning legal thriller Damages.
The 10-episode series inspired by historical events was filmed exclusively in Paris. The first three episodes of the highly anticipated series will premiere globally on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, on Apple TV+. The following episodes, one per week, will be released every Wednesday through April 3rd.

Set against the World War II Nazi occupation of Paris, the series focuses on the pivotal moment in the 20th century when the French city led the world back to life through its fashion icon Christian Dior.
As Dior rises to prominence with his groundbreaking, iconic imprint of beauty and influence, Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer is put into jeopardy. The interwoven saga follows the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals from Chanel to Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga, and more; and, provides a stunning view into the atelier, designs, and clothing created by Christian Dior through collaboration with the House of Dior.
The upcoming series reunites Kessler and Emmy Award-winner Glenn Close, who will portray Carmel Snow, the renowned editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar fashion magazine. This role marks the first time Close and Kessler have worked together since their award-winning collaboration on the acclaimed series Damages.
The New Look also features Claes Bang (The Outlaws) as Hans Von Dincklage AKA Spatz, Michael Carter (House of Dragon, An American Werewolf in London, Star Wars) as Maurice Dior, David Kammenos (Murder in Devil's Bridge) as Jacques, Jannis Niewöhner (Napolean) as Walter Schellenberg, Dominic Tighe (The Boys In The Boat) as Julien Horn, Zabou Breitman (Start Me Up) as Madame Zehnacker, Thure Lindhardt (Angels and Demons) as Heinrich Himmler, Thomas Poitevin (The Jewish Cardinal) as Pierre Balmain, Françoise Miquelis (The Pilot) as Madam Dean Bonjean, and Hélène Cardona (Upload) as Seamstress.
Grammy Award-winning Jack Antonoff has produced a contemporary and immersive soundtrack for the series. The soundtrack features covers of popular songs from the early to mid-20th century, performed by renowned artists such as Bleachers, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, Matty Healy (The 1975), Beabadoobee, Nick Cave, Perfume Genius, and more.

Along with Kessler, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker serve as executive producers. Helen Shaver (Vikings, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) also directs four episodes.
