Bronx Native Autumn Rowe Honored by ASCAP for Contributions to Music and Advocacy

Celebrated songwriter and Bronx native Autumn Rowe will soon receive a major honor from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) at its annual Women Behind the Music event in Los Angeles.
Known for her advocacy for songwriters' rights and her Grammy-winning work, Rowe's journey from the Bronx to becoming a powerful voice in the music industry highlights her talent, determination, and commitment to the creative community.
Scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, ASCAP’s Women Behind the Music event recognizes influential women who shape the music landscape, celebrating achievements across songwriting, composition, and leadership roles.
This year, Rowe is honored alongside Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Coco Jones and Emmy-winning composer Amanda Jones, joining a distinguished legacy of past honorees, including Grammy winners Sheila E. and Kelly Rowland, and hip-hop icons Salt-N-Pepa.

Born and raised in the South Bronx, Autumn Rowe’s journey from local songwriter to Grammy-winning artist has been filled with notable achievements. She gained widespread attention for her work on Jon Batiste’s Grammy-winning album We Are, which won the 2022 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
Her songwriting career also includes the hit “Happiness” by Alexis Jordan, a track that has seen a resurgence in popularity on social media platforms like TikTok.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, Rowe has established herself as a prominent advocate for songwriter rights, frequently addressing issues related to fair compensation and industry practices. In 2023, she played a crucial role as a speaker at the Grammys on the Hill event, which aims to support music creators. Rowe also stood as a representative for songwriters during the Copyright Royalty Board trial, where she vigorously advocated for increased royalties.
