Bridget Jones is back, and this time she’s navigating life as a single mom! Renée Zellweger returns to her iconic role in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, a fresh installment in the beloved franchise that follows Bridget on a journey through love, heartbreak, and reinvention.
Set to debut in international theaters on February 12, 2025, and streaming exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. the next day, this fourth film brings fans along as Bridget tackles the challenges of single motherhood, career twists, and the complex world of modern romance.
In Mad About the Boy, Bridget finds herself in a new stage of life after the tragic loss of her husband, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), who was killed in an overseas humanitarian mission. Now a single mother raising her two young children, nine-year-old Billy and four-year-old Mabel, Bridget is determined to move forward despite the emotional toll. As she leans on her tight-knit circle of friends, Bridget is also encouraged to open her heart once again.

Balancing single parenthood, a career, and romantic pursuits, Bridget turns to dating apps and finds herself in a budding relationship with a younger man (Leo Woodall).
Navigating this new romance alongside her children’s needs, she faces the challenges of judgmental parents at her children’s school and seeks to address the concerns of her son, Billy, who deeply feels his father’s absence. The journey unfolds with Bridget’s trademark humor and a cast of memorable characters.
Fans will be happy to hear that Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy brings back the beloved ensemble cast, including Hugh Grant as former flame Daniel Cleaver, Emma Thompson as Bridget’s gynecologist, and Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones as Bridget’s quirky parents. New cast member Isla Fisher joins as Rebecca, Bridget’s neighbor.

Based on Helen Fielding’s novel, the film is directed by Michael Morris (Better Call Saul) with contributions from writers Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady) and Dan Mazer (Bridget Jones’s Baby). Mad About the Boy is produced by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title, alongside producer Jo Wallett and executive producers Helen Fielding and Renée Zellweger.
From Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) to Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016), this beloved series has not only entertained audiences globally but has also redefined the rom-com genre with its relatable characters and real-life struggles.
