As I wrapped up the first season of Bookie, I have to say, what a fun roller coaster ride it was! From Danny dealing with his mentor's son wanting in on the business to the big money windfall that led to an unexpected shootout, this series- and every one of its characters- had me watching the television side-eyed laughing.
Well, for all of us hooked on Bookie, there's good news: it’s back! Created by Emmy-nominated Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, Bookie is returning for its second season on Thursday, December 12. With eight episodes set to drop weekly on Max. You can follow along until the season finale on Thursday, January 30.

For the uninitiated, this darkly funny comedy follows veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny as the looming legalization of sports gambling in California threatens to upend his livelihood for good.
With help from his best friend and former NFL player Ray, side-hustling sister Lorraine, and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector, Danny navigates the chaos of increasingly unstable clients and mounting debts—all while making some pretty risky bets of his own.
Full of relatable mishaps and sharp humor, Bookie chronicles one man’s relentless (and often hilarious) attempts to adapt to an ever-changing world while charming, scheming, and conning his way to the top.
