Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction TV Series Key Art- Premieres on Discovery Channel and Max Wednesday, June 19 at 10 PM ET/PT

With the Department of Defense launching a new online tool for reporting government activity related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), public interest in UFOs is at an all-time high.

This tool, part of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office's website established last year, now allows individuals to submit firsthand knowledge of UAP-related government programs or activities. But with so many reports flooding in, how can we distinguish genuine otherworldly encounters from mere misunderstandings or hoaxes?

An all-new investigative series, ALIEN ENCOUNTERS: FACT OR FICTION, will delve into the truth behind personal accounts of otherworldly experiences, premiering Wednesday, June 19 at 10 PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel and Max.

Amidst the increasing reports of UAPs (unexplained aerial phenomena), UFO experts Mitch Horowitz and Chrissy Newton utilize scientific data and rigorous research to analyze real-life extraterrestrial encounters, aiming to discern whether these accounts can be substantiated.

Stationed at a local watering hole in Roswell, New Mexico—a town renowned for its UFO history—Horowitz and Newton engage with individuals who recount their inexplicable encounters.

Each episode features the experts listening to firsthand accounts, then leveraging cutting-edge technology and recently declassified UFO documents to investigate the claims. By scrutinizing visual and physical evidence, they strive to separate fact from fiction and deliver a final verdict on the authenticity of each experience, determining whether it has a verifiable explanation or might indeed be a real alien encounter.

“Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction is a fun and exciting addition to our Wednesday night line-up, taking viewers on an out-of-this-world journey with a big payoff,” said Howard Lee, President of Discovery Networks. “As audiences listen to these intimate encounters, they can judge for themselves what they believe before our experts weigh in with facts. It packs the thrill of the unknown with a hunt for evidence while satisfying the thirst for knowledge."

In the premiere episode, Mitch Horowitz and Chrissy Newton visit a farming couple from California who believe they’ve captured video evidence proving the afterlife is real.

The investigation takes a turn when a geologist claims to have discovered the most significant evidence from a UFO crash site, leaving even the experts astonished. The episode concludes with a mother recounting a terrifying UFO encounter that she believes resulted in neurological damage and radiation burns on her body, presenting a gripping challenge for the investigators.
